The Tug Boat in the Freyberg Lagoon is a unique venue providing a solution for almost any desire a customer might have. We are situated on an old refurbished tug boat which allows you to enjoy amazing views of Wellington City.

The Tug Boat is made up of a number of areas, which include:

The Upper Deck: Overlooks the Wellington Harbour and has astonishing views of the city. This area can sit 60 people or cater for 150 people standing. The Upper Deck is perfect for business functions, family get togethers, product presentations, press conferences or as a V.I.P. area for any big event

Skippers Seafood Restaurant: Enjoy our freshest fish and other seafood or a fantastic steak which is world famous in New Zealand. The Restaurant can sit up to 100 people and provides a great opportunity for fine dining or a big catered event that will impress even the pickiest connoisseurs.

The Beach Bar: A great place for a cocktail function to enjoy the great selection of wines, beers and cocktails the Tug Boat can offer. Has great views on the Oriental Bay and loads of sun. Great for pre-function drinks, a relaxing afternoon after a hard day or after function drinks.

The Outside Deck: A perfect location if you want to soak up the sun while sitting right by the water with a cold drink in hand or want to enjoy the covered area of the outside deck, to get more of a nature feel with your perfectly cooked meal. As close as you can get to seeing the great views of the City from the water if you are not floating in a boat!

The Engine Room: The Engine room is the biggest room of the Tug Boat. Large soundproof area with lights and projector set up. Ideal for weddings, birthdays and large corporate functions. This area holds up to 250 people standing and makes for a great place to have a big function with entertainment
